Senior Instrument Data Analyst – Permanent Role
Our client, a leading Investment Management company, are currently looking to hire a Senior Instrument Data Analyst with a background in Financial Services to join the company on a FTC basis.
We are hiring for a Senior Instruments Data Analyst to join the Data Services team in the creation and maintenance of financial data (financial instruments). You will also be responsible for continual monitoring to ensure accuracy for downstream consumers, and you will be given the opportunity to work on large data sets from new data platforms. Prior experience of working with SQL and financial instruments is key, as well as strong attention to detail.
What you’ll be doing
Utilising the companies systems for financial instrument creation and on-going data maintenance covering all asset types.
Working with a variety of datasets to monitor data quality and reconciliations, data cleaning and validation data against market and non-market sources.
Investigating and resolving data exceptions that are triggered at different stages of the data flow process.
Acting as a point of contact for queries from different business areas, you will build cooperative relationships with internal clients, continuously assessing processes, outstanding issues, requirements, and ensuring standards are met.
Identifying control weaknesses, process enhancements and efficiencies relating to Data Services and recommending and implementing procedural and process change.
Assisting with new developments and projects to improve efficiency, productivity, and data standards.
What we’re looking for
A subject matter expert on a range of financial instruments with an in-depth understanding of how they work and associated data attributes.
In-depth experience working in similar data management functions, ideally a buy-side/investment securities environment.
Experience of capturing and maintaining similar instrument data attributes, party/issuer data and all other associated information in data systems.
Commercial SQL Data experience as well as advanced Excel skills (VBAs, Macros etc.)
The capacity to work in a client facing role and liaise with senior stakeholders, working to deadlines, KPIs and standards.
The ability to identify and propose process improvements.
